memories of Japan in 187 pictures and 405 words / 2008
on my way going were the sun rises, japanese traffic and japanese food, I’ve seen HAL everywhere in Japan, back to the amazing fulfilling breakfasts, strange love, Tokyo at night, Tokyo at day, onigiri, I’ve seen those little kitties last year too and will miss the festival this year again, alone in the train, alone in Tokyo, alone everywhere, casual meeting point, big dorky glasses and the birth of Kennedy James, this is the life!, staircase, purple match in the subway, Van Cleef & Arpels VIP private party, non-stop champagne, I bought tons of crazy funky girly socks and amazing nerdy glasses, Tanaka Keisuke’s work, Yamamoto Gendai, Erina Matsui, delicious pigeons, Tokyo contemporary arts fair, this amazing female artist I don’t remember the name, and others artists I forgot the names, plenty of them, I feel full of shame, Erina’s smile, a creepy yakusa kind of architect trying to seduce me in using my poor friend as living translator, my opening’s dinner at an incredible restaurant, drooling, drooling, drooling, and too much sake, yummy fishes, bare feet, a real fest!, the shy Kohei Kobayashi, HAL never stop watching us, japanese stores fever, computer blue, Yamamoto Gendai Gallery, green tea, Tokyo tower in the horizon, Mori Tower, Shibuya, waiting for Marie, French Embassy dinner at Shunju, fried tortule’s egg, still alone in Tokyo, in a hurry (this is becoming way too usual), shi-bu-ya shibuya desu, japanese sweets, Tokyo design week, not thinking too much, trying to breathe instead, Tokyo Wonder Site, this is life is way too cinematic to be real… oh wait! this is real, at Hélène’s, thank you Hélène!, edamame toy, insane karaoke night with the Femmes Fatales of Tokyo, as usual I broke my voice and the morning after I’m supposed to speak at the Yokohama Triennale (life is hard), posing with Tweetie and Erina, drooling over food again, mangaka paradise, Cartier VIP Party, again Champagne is flowing endlessly, I ended up with Nine at a halloween party organized by foreigner top models, still alone in Tokyo (where the hell do they hide?!!), on our way to Yokohama, Paris-Tokyo team, at Yokohama Triennale just in time to do the speech, taking few picts of what I can see of Yokohama before leaving, last night in Tokyo, ending up in a super fancy Jazz Club (way too expensive) which is actually located in the Hotel of Lost In Translation, this seems to be the end.
